Thrombin activatable fibrinolysis inhibitor (TAFI)
Product Information Thrombin activatable fibrinolysis inhibitor (TAFI). Description: Thrombin activatable fibrinolysis inhibitor (TAFI). Applications: Immunological and mass TAFI standard. TAFI (synonyms: procarboxypeptidase B, carboxypeptidase U, carboxypeptidase R) is a plasma protein circulating as a zymogen. Being activated by thrombin-thrombomodulin complex during blood coagulation, it exerts carboxypeptidase activity. It splits out C-terminal lysine from fibrin and prevents fibrin lysis by plasmin. TAFI is considered as a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. Presentation: Presented liquid or frozen in 10mM Tris-HCl buffer, pH 7.5, containing 0.15 M NaCl. Shipping Conditions: Liquid at + 4 °C or frozen at - 20 °C. Source: Human plasma. Plasma samples from donors were tested and found negative for HbsAg, HIV-1 and HIV-2 antibodies, HCV, and syphilis Analysis: Purity > 95 % (SDS-PAGE). Protein concentration determined by the Lowry procedure.
